Miss Geary earned a Bachelors of Science degree in Music Education and Mathematics from Slippery Rock University and continued on at “The Rock” to earn a Masters of Education degree in Secondary Education with an emphasis in Mathematics. During her time at SRU, Miss Geary studied with Dr. Stephen Hawk and performed with the SRU Jazz Ensemble which performed in the North Sea Jazz Festival and the Montreaux Jazz Festival in the summer of 2006. Even though she had a heavy emphasis in math in college, Miss Geary has landed a job teaching the subject she is most passionate about – music!
Miss Geary teaches 6th, 7th and 8th grade band and general music at Carson Middle School in the North Allegheny School District. She started her career in the fall of 2006 at CMS in Pittsburgh, PA. She has also been a member of the marching band staff at the North Allegheny Senior High School since 2007.
In her “spare time,” she plays trumpet in the North Suburban Symphonic Band (Pittsburgh, PA), Hamony-Zelienople Community Band, Harmony-Zelienople Community Jazz Ensemble (Harmony, PA), and the Musicians Concert Band (Slippery Rock, PA).

I understand where you are coming from. Today I cut my warm-ups short with my 5th grade chorus because the concert is in 3 weeks and I was anxious to get to the repertoire. You are right though. It is the journey. Good luck in your concerts and enjoy!
